Title: The Falcon's Demise
Post by: FredK on June 17, 2020, 01:52:57 PM
Check this out:

The last flight of Virgin's "Millenium Falcon" 747-400.  Destination: Junk Heap.

The departing "wing wave" is cool.

It is really a sorry sight to see pretty much the last of the 747s disappearing from the skies.....hastened to their demise by COVID.  "The Falcon" livery repaint was just put into service last September.  So it vividly demonstrates how business plans can quickly change.

The 747 being arguably the most iconic aircraft ever built!

Great Video Fred,

Quite emotional and sad to see a perfectly good aeroplane off to the breakers yard.
I remember racing to our local airport to see the last Concorde fly- in, which was a dreadful waste. You'd have thought they'd keep one flying for air shows. Particularly as they spent millions reinforcing the tanks.

Always sad....love the 74!
Huge and docile beast.
