Title: Where to buy - Special Items for building
Post by: XOrionFE on February 06, 2011, 04:02:56 AM
Wanted to start a thread where links to good places to buy special items can be put and added to by everyone.    Only links should and item descriptions should be posted here.

Cheap but excellent LED Source:
http://stores.ebay.com/Buynow360 (http://stores.ebay.com/Buynow360)

Source for warm white LED strips (I believe this is where I got my warm white strips for my under glare lighting):
http://stores.ebay.com/hot-vip-shop (http://stores.ebay.com/hot-vip-shop)

LED Dimmer - Not exactly where I bought but this is the unit but this is the one.  Lots of sellers on ebay for cheap.  I use about 4 of these:

Excellent Source for LCDs - THis is where I purchased a 10.4 for my 737 lower MFD
http://stores.ebay.com/VitroLight-LCD-Module-Bay?_rdc=1 (http://stores.ebay.com/VitroLight-LCD-Module-Bay?_rdc=1)

Source for FDS IBL Dimmers (Motor Controllers) -

Good source for different color and guage wiring-

This is a super excellent idea. It would be nice to make this post a sticky so it is always quickly available.

Thanks for posting your sources. Will be adding some soon as well.

If anyone needs long DVI-D cables (or other cables), here is a very good seller on e-bay with reasonable prices. I bought 25' cables from him and I am very happy with them.

Hey guys,

I purchased curtain products from this site . . . they have all the necessary curtain tracks, hooks etc. to cheaply make a cockpit curtain if your building a cockpit that does not use a door . . . or might be good for some of you guys that don't use a back wall.  This site has flexible track as well that will conform to the shape of your shell.

Hi Guys.
I know you've mentioned the superbright store above for buying the 12 volt dimmers and I bought some from there.

Top quality and at 15 dollars each, some would say a real bargain.

However, I found another site from the UK that sells the same dimmers at a much reduced price than that.

I bought 4 dimmers and postage to brisbane Australia and had change from 20 dollars.

They are .99 pounds, which worked out about two bucks each at this end.

They took a few weeks to arrive, but they are identical to the others.

Quite a saving, my friends.

Here's the URL:

I came across this provider of IPECO seat covers for BBJs. I don´t know what they charge, since I have my own original seats, but maybe for one or the other here, that´s worth an inquiry. Scroll down their page.

Well, I inquired...

I asked for a price new, and if they had reject or overstocks available.  They have no rejects or damaged covers.  They do sell them new for:  $3,126.

If anyone wants the contact info, let me know.

For those in the US, Nick from the Airline pilot historical  society, provided me with new covers for my IPECO 737 seats. I think I paid around 1500 dollars for a pair and it took like 5 weeks to get them.

Nick is very helpful and a nice person.

Cheers

I haven't bought anything from this company so I can't vouch but they seem to have reasonably priced covers for IPECOs.
