Hello all,

I have already placed my order for a Simworld SST and I'm waiting for the time to pass.

I will use P3D and built the following PC:

  • i7 6700K (I will OC to 4.5-4.6 GHz)
  • GTX 1070
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 2 SSDs (1 for Win10 and 1 for P3D and add-ons
  • 650W PSU

I haven't decided yet about the external view.
I'm between 3 24" monitors or 1 55". Any suggestions which way to go?

Also, I have to build one more PC for Prosim and some add-ons like ActiveSky etc.
Should I go for i7 too like the main PC or not?

Usually avionics PCs do not require Steroid status, but overpower is always better than under.
Just allow for a graphic card with at least 4 outputs for the various MIP screens (monitors)
Go wild for the outside view, a large TV or a projector , much better (IMHO) than tiny 3 views with low FPS.

Just received my Simworld SST with Single CDU bay and lower EICAS.  :D

The whole unit has 5 VGA inputs:
1 for Chrono
1 for PFD/ND
1 for upper EICAS
1 for lower EICAS
1 for CDU

My plan is to drive the whole unit with 1 PC as I have another powerful one for my P3D installation.

Is it better to build a small PC with 3 video cards with 2 outputs each or just 1 video card and go for VGA to USB adapters?

Just be warned. Your starting with a single seat... the dual seat won't be far behind lol. Always plan for the future :)

I know Trevor. :)

But I don't have enough room for a full cockpit.
As soon as I move to a bigger house, I sure go all the way for the real deal!

I use 3 PC's in my setup.  1 does the MIP Displays ( 2 on video card and 1 USB to vga ) I notice a studders on my USB to vga sometimes.

My other PC does CDU and MCP. On a dual head Video card.

Not that what I do is right. But if I had to have more monitors I would use Usb to vga because they are getting better technologically and preform as well as required.  And they are cheaper than a multi head video card which can be less than ideal.

For your set up I would recommend two CPUs, the internal cockpit displays could all be run from a single Radeon W600 card. Use the other PC as your host for all your other stuff and out the window displays.
