I have always disliked FS9 weather behaviour - when there is 8/8 clouds and you pass FL200 they will all of a sudden become Broken.
There is thankfully a "secret" remedy for this - it only requires you to have a FAST FS9 computer :

In FS9.cfg change:

ORIGINAL:
----------------------------------------------
CLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY=8
CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE=4
---------------------------------------------

to

----------------------------------------------
CLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY=12
CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE=12
---------------------------------------------

This gives you overcast under your flight even at FL330    :D

However, as soon as you go into the FS9 SETTINGS menu for any reason the values will automatically revert to original.
This is due to the fact that computers were just too slow at the time FS9 was released and the value 12 is a "hidden" feature.
But then again - it an easy task to change the values back to 12 again after a visit to the SETTINGS pages.

Be aware that a "12" setting takes heavy tolls on the computer so I do not recommend it for other than PC:s with minimum a 3 Ghz Core2Duo installed.  My FS9 computer has an E8500 C2D processor (3.18 MHZ) and I do have fluent flights with this setting.

Bjorn,

Thanks for this tip. I have seen it a long time ago but forgot all about it! Excellent info, thank you so much.
