P8 Demo

The P8 Poseidon Demo trailer was here at GE Aviation today.  Had a chance to poke around (no pictures though). 

They have a sim setup and have you land around San Diego then fly under the Coronado bay Bridge (Pretty sure that's an FAA Violation) :)

Interesting that they project the HUD right on the outside visuals, and while this works, it doesn't look like the commercial varient at all.

You'll be happy to know they do a single forward visual so everyone here running multiple projectors blows their system away!

I think Pete and Steve had a hand in this one.  The shell is from an old United bird (737-500), but the MIP and MCP looks very much like FDS.

I told the guy "I have one at home", of course he laughed until I showed him.  Tried offering $1500 for both IPECO seats but he wouldn't sell them :)
Less than 4 years to retirement......

We recently made a custom "CDU" for this setup. Great group of guys at Boeing on that project.

Who did the software on that one?  Curious because of the HUD
