What always amazes me are the wipers. You would think they would be hidden like they do in cars, not so much for looks in this case but to reduce drag & wind noise. I'm also amazed they don't start flopping in the wind when you are cruising at high speeds, particularly in heavy turbulence.

much like a car over a certain spd they the wipers become useless as for  drag I would think it would be minimal just my 2 cents worth

You're probably right re. drag otherwise the airlines would be screaming as they try to squeeze every ounce of savings they can get
