Hi all,

I've decided to move my flight deck over to FSX, I have a new 6 core processor and 8 GB RAM but I'd like to know what aircraft model you guys are using. I've tried a couple of the Open Sky ones which is what I have on FS2004 but the FSX versions seem totally different.
They do not respond very well and seem very sluggish by comparison to my FS2004 setup.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
Joe.

Joe Im using the POSKY 737 FSX and love it.

Open up the aircraft.cfg and check/modify the "flight tuning" section.
I had to increase the aileron and pitch effectiveness till I was happy.

Cheers,

Nat

I have several friends in VA in UK now using Ifly737 and they all rave about it - maybe worth a look

Thanks Guys,

Nat, I'll have a look at the aileron and pitch, the current settings are:
elevator_effectiveness =1.500
aileron_effectiveness  =0.350
rudder_effectiveness   =0.251
would I increase these values to make them more responsive? Not something I've interfered with before.  ???

And Mike I am familiar with the iFly 737 which as you say is very nice, but I use PM so for me all the fancy bits are not needed. In fact I usually do away with the instrument panel altogether. It makes for better frame rates. But thanks for your input.  :)

Regards

Joe.

I used the Posky for a bit but did not like the way it was flying compared to default so switched back to the default 737.

Me too actually. I find the default 737 very flyable. Maybe it is too easy but all & all it seems pretty OK to me.

How does the posky 737 for FSX compare to the PMDG flight model for FS9.  I will be using Sim Avionics.

Are they similar?  Which is more realistic?   WilloW

What software are you using? PM or SimA or ?. With SimA, the default 800 is the best for me altogether and by that I mean while using all the A/P functions of SimA as well as manual flying. Could be different with PM though.

Regardless, it's easy enough to change and see for yourself which one you like best
