Guys.

Curently the Site uses Coppermine for a photo gallery, but I have now installed a new Gallery software that will allow the Photos to be displayed and sorted in the existing forum database and layout, using the same Fonts/Format.

Would you all like to see the site embedded with the photos (Internally)? Or are you all happy with the existing Gallery?

Please post here.  Majority will rule, so if you care or have an opinion, please post.

By the way, if we goto the new Gallery I would need you all to re-upload your photos.  Both are running right now, (You will notice the Media, and Gallery options in the Head of the page)

No Problem.  I found that nobody had permission to view it LOL.  Anyway, I have uploaded a sample Gallery.  Have a look guys, and let me know.

Well, i have viewed the old gallery in the past, and it was good, however i didnt like how it took you away from the forum.  After looking at the new media that you added trev i like that better.  It is more streamline and looks better i think.  So anyway, cast my vote for the new media gallery instead of the coppermine gallery.

I like the new media option as well. I like the different aircraft categories from coppermine though. If that is something that can be done with the new media gallery as well then I vote for the new.
Will we still be able to access the the coppermine gallery if you do make the switch?  Im sure there will be some good photos that wont be uploaded again.

Gary

That can always be an option, but what I can do is import all the photos that don't get uploaded into the gallery, so they wont be lost.

Like Tyler I like the fact that it looks like you don't "leave" the site. Loks like it has some other nice features, I vote for the new one as well. Come on guys, state your opinions!

NeoMorph

I like the new one but I can't seem to add photos. Permissions probs again?

I don't think it is set to allow uploads yet. Don't want to get a bunch of uploads in it and then take it down.

Trevor Hale

Bob's Right, I havent set it to allow uploads til we decide.

Personally I prefer the old version, simply because it offers different resolutions of each image. I didn't see that available in the new version. If that facility is available, then I don't mind either way.  ;)

Sometimes when the guys (or gals) post an image of a project, it's nice to see the detail. Helps to formulate your own ideas, or pinch someone else's.  ::)

Cheers
Joe.

I am pretty sure this is available in the new program as well.

Trevor Hale

In the New version the pictures can be as large as you want them.  Basically the software will resize them, but clicking on the image will open a full size image like the other gallery.

Either way, If you like the old gallery, then thats one for that.

People we Need more input, we can't make this decision based on 4 votes, keep em coming..

I have used Coppermine on a couple of sites I maintain.  Users complained of how hard it was to interpret correctly to post pictures.  I ended up writing a step-by-step on one site.  I also found it cumbersome.  So if you have something better, then I vote for that.  Wouldn't want to have a minor frustration cause no picture posting.

Bob Reed

Guys, I just posted some pics to the new gallery software... Wow! Never been so easy to post pics here before. Very slick.
