Hello everybody.

Recently I bought a "TripleHead2Go Digital Edition" unit.

I now have to decide which monitors to buy.

I have downloaded Matrox compatibility tool and run it.

(Automatically checks your system GPU and tells you whether or not it is compatible, and what resolutions you can expect to achieve.)

I got this result:

Does this mean I should buy monitors with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050
or
does it mean that I can use monitors with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 but only run them at 1680 x 1050 ?

I need some advise please ! I can´t afford to buy the wrong monitors.

Best regards

Bjarne Horsboel  :)

You should not use any monitors at anything else than their native resolution, which means the resolution which they were designed for. They would work with lower resolutions but the image will not be as sharp.

So your best bet is to find monitors which will work at one of the resolutions supported by your video card and Matrox THG.

But you may want to wait for other opinions before you decide  :)

Hi Maurice

Thank you for your answer !

If I understand you right...

Your advise is ... I should buy 3 monitors with native resolution 1680 x 1050 ?

1680x1050 would definitely work but you could also use lower resolution monitors as long as their native resolution is supported by your PC & Matrox THG. FSX will run at 5040x1050 when it detects the new wide resolution (the FSX.CFG file will show the new expanded resolution as one of the choices in the display settings).

In my case I have projectors with a native resolution of 1280x800 and the THG makes it 3840x800. So basically make sure the native resolution of your monitors is one of the resolution supported in the PC & THG. You should be able to get that by looking at the specs for THG digital edition (see link below). 1680x1050 is currently the max resolution of your PC, so that is the max resolution you can also use with the THG. But with a different video card with higher available resolutions, you could go as high as 1920x1080 since the Matrox THG supports that resolution as well (if you have a DVI output on your graphic card).
