Hi all
I don't know if there is any substance to this, but would have to be good news if it were true I think?

Now this is certainly an interesting development. I had heard a few months ago that MS was shopping this license around to anyone who might be interested.

If someone else other than LM, you have to wonder why?  LM has a very limited license and while they have changed the code to improve the sim, their marketing and sales rights are very restrictive.

Now bringing FS X up to today's software standards is going to cost whoever bought it a lot of money. Hopefully they have deep pockets because they will need them. And will their direction be gamers, high-enders or someone in between.

As usual, more questions than answers when this happens.

We have now heard directly from reliable sources, who have requested to remain undisclosed, that the 'franchise' sold recently by Microsoft is not that of FSX, but rather that of the newer "MSFlight". We also learned that an official annoucement is to be expected soon, from the purchaser of the license.

That makes more sense!

FS X is still being sold in the boxed edition and MS is making money on it without having to provide any kind of technical support. Fortunately the sim community has been doing that for a few years now.

Selling the rights to FS X would have placed LM in a very difficult position depending on the details of any such sale.
