Ok so I done some work this weekend. Installed yoke covers. Cleaned the airplane and installed/built the pedistal. It still need paint and I am going to have to populate it with radios when I find some money to buy some. I already had the transponder from opencockpits.

Things are looking great Trevor! making me jealous!

RayS

That FMC looks eerily familiar... Did you perhaps buy that from some guy named Ray?  ;D
Ray Sotkiewicz

Trevor Hale

Lol nope...  But I got it from free from a Guy named Bob that may have gotten it from a guy named Ray. Lol. I had it for years. It was my FMC for my falcon 900 and I ised it in my 737 :)

It's been through WWII and it still lives lol

Why, yes... That FMC did come from a guy named Ray and was in my 737 for years. It has made the rounds. The fact that it is still kicking speaks of how robust they are. Now take it apart, (I know how) and paint it gray or black!

I do need to take it apart and I need to fix the backlighting in it also, I seem to remember you telling me it was broken LOL

All of the bulbs are blown and they are wired directly to the circuit board. I was thinking about replacing them with tiny leds. Would not be able to use the built in circuit would have to create your own. But as I recall it was doable.

Trevor Hale

sucks, because I just threw out all those panels with the blue light bulbs in them.  I do still have some on my overhead and CB panels.  Maybe I can just solder the replacements back in and see what happens. :)

Hey Guys.

Been out in the garage for a few days this week and finally have this Arduino thing sorted I think. Like I said before in another thread I still have to try to work on the jitters.

Flap, VSI and Trim Gauge all work, and now I just need to put in the annunciator panel. But things are coming along.

Trevor Hale

Thanks bud,

With the cheaper ability to make your own instruments with a $10 servo and some bits and a cheap interface maybe the price of the USB gauges will have to come down.. once people start making their own.

Trevor,
Great choice there, just seen some Dash 8 panels and a GNS530 done by them, simply
stunning. A very talented family business.

Les

Trevor Hale

Thanks Les, I agree good quality and a great group of guys.  Dean use to be around here quite a bit, but ever since the earthquake he hasn't been around much.
