Title: OAT bug in iStation weather engine ????
Post by: janar737 on December 21, 2015, 11:21:21 AM
A few days back I was testing the iStation weather engine with the iFly 737NG aircraft.
I noticed an unrealistic decrease in climb performance above somewhere 15000 ft.

After some googling I found that some weather programs might have an OAT bug
To check the change of OAT with altitude I added an OAT gauge to my iFly panel

Test setup
PC with W10 pro, FSX and iFly 737-800, TOW 62 ton
Notebook with W10 Home iStation v2.13nv connected to FSX using WideFS

1. Result with iStation weather
OAT keeps constant at the set groundlevel temp 12 degr C /54 degr F indepent of alt.
Then for example at an alt of 24000ft the iFly 737 climb performance is reduced to
~500 ft/min while EGT is 885.

2. Result with FSX build-in weather
OAT decreases with increasing heigh
Then  for example at an alt of 27000 ft OAT is -37 degr F and the iFly 737 climb
performance is ~1500 ft/min, while EGT is 637

Does anybody else have encountered this type of problem with iStation?
Is this really a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Hopefully somebody can help me out.

Thanks in advance

See you, Jan

Hi Jan,

I recommend you download and install the latest version (3.31nv).  This issue is solved.

Happy New Year!

Cheers,
Luis
