I'm trying to figure out how to make an inclinometer that looks similar to this one:

http://www.riekerinc.com/Mechanical-Inclinometers/1040_Slip.htm

Does anyone have any ideas?

mikeybear

how about using  an edge moving coil meter ?
something like https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/analogue-panel-ammeters/0259561/

I have seen this done before, I think it was on this forum actually.

Clear plastic tube with a steel ball inside it, and servo behind the gauge with a magnet attached to the arm, which moves the ball inside the tube magically.

Thanks Dave. Your solution is too deep, I don't have that luxury because I'm going to have an LCD right behind it.

Mick, that's the solution that I dug up in the past 24 hours.
