Hello Trevor,
Thanks for the kind words [emoji4]

If anyone would be interested I'll make the plans available for anyone that wants to build it. Problem is they are not DIY friendly and you kind of have to have a cnc.

CAM done in F360. It took quite some time before I could figure out how to setup the part in a 7.5 degree angle.

I'll have to mill two fixtures to hold the piece. I'm at the moment out of aluminium so no machining until next week.

Gonna be interesting to see if this works. If anyone has experience of this, please shout out [emoji16]

Small steps forward.

Today I machined the part that attaches to the yoke. It has a 7.5 degree slope, the other part that attaches to the shaft also has 7.5 degrees slope so the yoke will lean 15 degrees in relation to the shaft.

Quite happy with the result. Some improvements if I where to redo the part but in the end it doesn't matter. Would just help out to make it easier to mount.

Beautiful work on these parts Anders!

CAD/CAM in Fusion 360 is very convenient, although it is not intuitive -- especially when it comes to creating geometry using multiple planes.

By the way...   Your Start Switches are still working fine in my 737 Sim.   "They take a lick'n, and keep on tick'n"   :)

Awesome to hear, love hearing they still work after years of usage [emoji7]

F360 takes quite some time to figure out all tricks. I follow some quite nice tutorials on YouTube. Still learning everyday.

Hello Archen,

Regarding AutoCAD's Fusion 360...   Here is a very good set of tutorials for using Fusion 360 in CNC applications.   I purchased the Fusion 360 for CNC Lathe work.  It is very comprehensive as to each step needed to setup and use the CAD/CAM operation in Fusion 360.   I think it could be of great help to you.  Here is the link:

https://course.gcodetutor.com/p/fusion-360-tutorial-for-cnc

Go to his home page for all his tutorials...

Had to make a new shaft, I made a mistake in my design so it was to short.

Now it will leave around 15cm space behind the panel and also 15cm between the yoke and the front panel when it's mounted in the Sim.

Lots of work as the bearing was heated to make them fit it was very hard to get them apart. I'm not taking it apart again, that's for sure [emoji16]

Designed a bushing to support the shaft in the front. It will be manufactured in Acetal (delrin).

Would a flange bearing be a better option there Anders? Assuming you get get one the right Size for the shaft... Just a thought!

It's looking magnificent none the less.  :D

Hello Joe,
I think a hardened shaft is a must if I should use bearings. The shaft is not hardened unfortunately.

Machined the part today. Now it's going into the lathe to trim the outside diameter and also make the inner hole the right size. I think I'll do h8 tolerances, seems like most bushings are h8.

Two new pics showing the casing.

Ideas how to make the 7.5mm radius bend?

You could use a brake press, like the one in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF0GCCKRcvA

I made one using birch plywood for bending aluminium. to form a radius you simply machine the inner radius on the part you're bending it around.
I hope that makes sense??

Joe.
