Title: SSR Relay?
Post by: fly_ebos on September 12, 2020, 10:29:24 PM
Hi

I am going to replace my NG MIP with a MAX MIP and thinking of ways to improve realism.

Wondering if anyone has experience with using SSR relays. I plan to use connect my LCD's to one so I can replicate BAT power on/off.
Other option would be to wire the PSU feeding the LCD's to a DPDT BAT switch.

Your thoughts please?

thanks
Thomas

I use relays extensively, this is easy to do.
You should also consider one for AC power too, so the F/O side screens etc don''t come on until the aircraft has AC power available.
Prosim has gates available for both AC & DC power available.

Avionics software logic(Prosim, SimAvionics, PM etc) take care of that. When I switch BAT on just the captain side including radios lights up until I start the APU or get ground power.
