Title: Filling the Yaw Damper Hole
Post by: jackpilot on October 12, 2010, 07:30:39 AM

Got an idea to fill the yaw damper indicator hole.
The Flightillusion gauge is expensive (for what it really brings to the simulation) and a dummy gauge has no appeal to me.

Found this Hobbs meter on EBay and it fits right in.
As it works fine , I can either hook it to the APU circuit, which is realistic, or to the Engines  "On" which would allow me to realize how many hours of my life I spend in front of that big toy!

Nice find and good idea !

   One of topic question:
Does the display holder that you bought from FDS to use with your lower eicas fits VESA 100X100 or 75x75 monitors?

   Thank you in advance !

Sort of universal  as it fits the 4 screws found on all monitors at the back.
I will doublecheck with Steve at FDS.

Designed for a wide range of applications and mounting configurations it takes mere minutes to bolt your existing LCD Displays into securely into place. There are slots that line up with standard monitors and fully adjustable.

Thanks Jack!

I thought I saw a yaw damper at APHS. Have you checked there yet?

If Nick has this part without costing your entire sim I believe you can get the needle moving with 1.5 VDC.

Mine uses flags for the upper and lower damper and uses twin switches (not ganged). One switch operates the flag mechanisms and the other switch sends signal to the input card.

I'll doublecheck but usually(for whatever uknown reason) they sell for outrageous prices.
Thanks Mike.
