May be this little trick can help those who do not already know.
Makes tidy cables behind the MIP. Wires have to be color coded though and drill on low speed.
Works with any number of wires and all lengths.
Pictures self explaining:
Nice tip Jack!
Better than my constant hand twisting!
For long ones, use a vice or a clamp at the other end and keep pulling the drill slightly to maintain tension..
Always allow extra length as the cable will be shorter than the initial strands. ;)
Jack
Brilliant idea - many thanks

Funny story related to this.
On my first co-op job during my senior year in High School we used that trick to make up long runs of power leads. We would stretch out 30 feet of black and red wire, tie one end off on an old archive file cabinet draw handle and the other end of course went into the drill chuck. The cabinet had been locked shut for so long that none of us even knew if the key still existed.
One fateful day, you guessed it, persons unknown, we suspect the receptionist, unlocked the cabinet without us knowing it. When we started to make another batch of power leads the draw came flying out and not only did it jump its tracks, go airborne, with its contents flying in all directions, but the cabinet itself tipped over, and the contents of the next draw down spilled on the floor as well.
After the company owner got done yelling at us and left the room we had all we could do not to pass out from laughing so hard. A lesson learned and fun had by all . . .
:D

That's my 172 fuselage on a trailer when I picked it up from the salvage dealer. It was more stable and easier to strap down sitting upside down. It sure got some strange looks on the highway.
I now have it cut down to size and am almost ready to move it in to my garage to start building the mechanical linkages for the flight controls so I should probably post a few updated pics.
