Title: No Landing lights
Post by: Drewsta on July 04, 2011, 03:34:57 AM
Hi guys, this is a real tough one for me, I have no landing lights on the normal 2d views on any aircraft in fs9? I thought it was just my leveld767 setup but I tried the stock 777 etc and the landing lights wouldn't come on for that view either.

I have fs9 setup exactly the same on another computer and can see the landing lights no problems on the 2d standard view on there. I have also transfered across my leveld767 panel settings and aircraft config to that second computer and the lights still come on with the 2d view. Is there a setting somewhere for this perhaps in the fs9.cfg? I am really trying hard to avoid having to reinstall FS9 on my full scale flightsim setup.

I should mention I am running 3 projectors through a TH2go with 1 top downview and 3 undocked views ontop of that for visuals.

Any help here would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Drew

I had this but do not remember the clue.
Has to do ,I think, with using Virtual cockpit or full screen.
Someone will chime in with a better answer.
:P

Hi,

Just a thought - maybe the bitmap that is generating the landing lights is missing ?
Its name is :
"spotlight.bmp" in the fs9 main texture folder

If missing just give me a call and I will email a replacement.

Best,
Bjorn

Hi Bjorn , I failed to mention before that the landing lights work fine in Virtual cockpit mode, just not in 2d view.

Some progress made here guys, I used the 767 configuration tool to remove the virtual cockpit and then reinstalled the panel file I was currently using. That allows me to utilise the VC view without the Virtual cockpit in the way. I now have landing lights again with this view, just not the 2d. Can you set the Virtual cockpit view parameters the same as the 2d views? If so where would I find those settings or are they the same as the 2d anyway?

Thanks
Drew

Check your fs9.cfg file for the entry SEE_SELF=1
If SEE_SELF is set to =0 then change it to SEE_SELF=1

Hope this helps

Thanks guys, Nico sent me a message stating the same thing but I can't seem to find that entry. I will look again.. a bit harder this time.

Drew, if you can't find it, just add it.

Hi Drew
Did it work for you ?

Question to Nico ?  :) Why do you send a "message" to Drew instead of posting ???  :)

Regards
Bjarne

Hi Guys, thankyou for those replies, it totally worked! I can't believe all that hassle for just a small number 1.

Unreal and thanks again.
