Title: my sim home last few days..
Post by: MLeavy737 on September 17, 2011, 02:00:53 PM
Well it was sim check time again this year.. took a few pics of the box on the way out.  This particular sim is one of the new ones with the electric (non hydraulic) actuators. The thing is smooth. visuals are awesome as well. Considering it was 2 days of checkrides i always have fun in these things!

At least, at 125, you do not care anymore about the wrap around visual!  :D

Wow!  What amazes me is how real our sims are compared to these.

Great pics Mike. Thanks for posting.

Hello Mike

"Its not that bad" ...

Actually its not that bad but you got wonder about doing 160kts when you cant see the nose in front of your face with the fog.
Maybe I can use the LVOPs qualification to do 300kph down the freeway. the local highway patrol wont mind a bit.
"hey officer I got the paperwork to prove it"

We operate into 30m strips and are upgrading the xwind limit from 25kts to 33kts.
THATs interesting with the V1 cut, the skinny runway really is skinny.

Always good to finish the "LURCHING BOX" and get back on line.... good for another 6months.

You'll be starting the snow routine soon,  were soon to starting the storm season.

regards
Mark.

As one wise pilot said ..."you know SIM sessions are like playing golf"
" hows that "
"well you always try for a birdie, but end up with a boggie"  :P

Hello Jack,

"At least, at 125, you do not care anymore about the wrap around visual!"

its even more interesting when they lower the vis to below 125m above 80 kts but before V1 ...

save money everyone, all you need is a cheap black and white TV for forward visuals
( brings back memories of the B727 sim ... all night only black & white )

just pretend your in FOGville !

See the end of the runway?
Heu..yep...Affirmative!!!
OK cleared for TO.....

BTW my first Sim had no visual but a little square in the left hand corner and that was enough for TO and Landings, and huge fun in between!!
