Title: Shell flooring
Post by: jackpilot on April 16, 2012, 12:47:10 PM
Carpeting is fine but I'm afraid of static during super dry Winter.
I fried som cards years ago with a single "tick"
So I went for real rubber overlay.

Found this at Cosco. Used for garage flooring, 6 , 7 or 10 feet wide (depending on stores). A bit expensive but what's not now!!

Looks aero! lol

Yes they do it in brown (taupe )
Yes it looks very similar to the Alu checkerplates and has a nice sheen.
Yes it is expensive and as far as I know comes only in rolls of 7.5'X20'
BUT
Its real rubber
This is the internet price shipping included , check in stores if avail .
Costco has the best price (retailers sell it for gold)
One roll covers 3 cockpits (sharing)
Or, indulge  and redo also  all your garage with a few rolls .

There is a several times cheaper version of this in Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire. I used it for the floor cover in my shed. Sure it is not as durable as Costco version, and matte looking rather than shiny, but as far as I remember ~$20 for 4'x8' roll.  That's what I put on my sim floor when ready.

Well, for the garage floor it's really good stuff if you can afford it.  ;) I was looking at it initially too, but then decided to get cheaper one since there is no much traffic in the shed.  :idiot:
