Hello,
I am building my cockpit 737 right now but am having some second thoughts... I bought a motorized yoke from Revolution sim and that needs to be fixed on a floor. The cockpit floor must be around 16cm higher.. I have to redo the whole $#*& floor. Tommorrow the: constructionguy is arriving and I am a bit out of time for my idea. What I want to do:
have a sort of portable, quick removable floor from wooden boxes
Right now my setup:

I am thinking about a box for:
- Front mip
- yokes
- 2 chairs
- pedestal and throttle
One thing that will make it a bit difficult:
Originel (electric, malfunction) seats on J-rails (not yet fixed, have to find solution)
Are there any ideas like this mentioned before? Are there any drawings with correct size of wooden boxes ?
I will make a quick first drawing and upload my idea.... I have about 12 hours after this posting that I must have the drawing ready... ;-) Hopefully someone can point me in the correct direction. I Also use 27" screen so height of chair can be important. MAybe someone knows a smart trick to make seat height adjustable?

Thanks alot!

Room height? Ever thinking of a having a shell in the future?
shell....:-) well i dont know my private situation in 3 months...so for the moment out of reach. Also I guess with 7x 27" a shell is very difficult to use with monitors right ?
I would look at doing the entire base, as one platform and just have the construction guy make removable panels. (Access holes)
So for instance you would create the base, like he would build a deck, but then have him create a spot that your entire yoke assembly fits into.
If this guy is a carpenter, I am sure he will have a better idea of what he can do in the time you alot him and have him come up with the solution for you.
Keep us posted.

I would also recommend you have at least 20cm of clearance under the floor. That is the clearance required if you ever decide to buy Ali's yokes. It would be a shame since you are starting over on this to find out you were a couple of cm or an inch off and had to sacrifice.
In seriousness, as you are building a base, use Nick1150 or Sean Nixons measurements (they fit an FDS shell) and go that route. That leaves you open for all future options with the exception of actually buying a 737 nose section.
Just my 2 cents.
If you're curious, this is what it would cost to order the steel from "speedymetals" online (minus shipping) required for that base, and if you know someone with a welder and a hacksaw...

I live in Netherlands so sending those plates will be too expensive. People advised me not to use carpet because it will have too many cuts because of boxes and that i need to be able to get in there if there are problems. Advise is: paint everything....Any other tips ?
Very nice setup and the floor looks good.
Thanks all For helping me out!
