Hi guys.
I recently bought a set of dual linked yokes.
I want to set them up as professionally as possible. I'm talking about the roll and pitch axes here.
I could just use simple potentiometers, or even slide potentiometers, but what about hall sensors? Also interested in the high end pots like million cycle pots.
Can anybody tell me of their experiences?
Obviously, some ways are better than others, I'd like to know if there are pitfalls before I install them and then find out.
I live in Brisbane Australia, so if anyone knows any good distributors of these products, as well, I'd be very appreciative.

My opinion - stay away from slide pots. I used them but found the dirt gets in them and quickly makes them "noisy". You can get good quality audio ones, but they are very expensive and they are not linear, so no good.
As for hall effect, I think you will have hell calibrating them reliably. I have a set of FDS dual linked rudder pedals (which i will sell shortly) that originally used hall effect for the brakes. No matter what I did, it played up big time. With out even saying anything (they must have seen the issue), P Cos sent me an upgrade kit for free changing it over to normal pots. Never had a problem since. All their rudder pedals now use pots.
On my new sim project, and for the TQ on my previous sim, I ordered my pots through Bodnar at the same time as I bought a couple of their cards. They have worked flawlessly. I have them fitted to all the axis including everything in the quad. Calibrated in FSUIPC in 20 min.

Hi Frank, there's no need to import pots, these are the ones I get from RS Components - Part number 249-9238 I resell them in my rudders and TQs ets which are all fitted with Bodnar BU0836 cards
