Title: Aluminium blanking plates
Post by: hirail22 on May 30, 2013, 08:46:56 PM
Hi all,
I'm looking for some aluminium blanking plates for the empty spaces in my pedestal, any ideas where I can lay my hands on some?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
I would make my own.. You can buy sheet metal in ACE hardware or any hardware store for that matter and just cut it. Can probably use a jigsaw with metal cutting blade or dremmel with metal cutter.. Then just sand it to take out any imperfections..

Then again like everything else we used to make is probably available for order online :)

Assuming you don't want genuine ones, OpenCockpits make them:

Thanks mick,
I already have some open cockpits ones, nasty plastic ones, unless they have changed to aluminium?  like everyone else here, we want as close to the real thing as we can get!! Thanks for the idea mike, I might look into making some myself,

I think its better to make  your own in this case as Mile L said, you going to get a neater fit and they can be sized to your hole
