Title: Push-to-test Annunciators
Post by: fsaviator on July 06, 2013, 04:13:22 AM
Can someone please let me know which annunicators (if any or none at all) are actually push-to-test (push to test lights).

Of particular interest right now is the fire panel.  I'm finally getting back into build mode and starting to work on my fire panel.  Now that I have my 3D printer, I also want to see if I can build myself some annunciators.

thanks

Warren

Every real annunciator I have in my Sim ( or seen) is push to test.

To extreme?  Never!  Actually, I'm looking for an obscure project to try out with my 3d printer so this might be it

Thanks guys.  I'll let you know if this ever works out.

As for where to get them...  ebay...  or for simming use, you can make them yourself, or go check with some of the providers of flight sim parts.

Hi Warren

I think I know most of the 737 hardware providers out there but I have never seen such an annunciator?

Giving it thought though the test function will be easy to do just need to think of an easy solution to create the PTM function of the annunciator.

I know for a fact that simparts.de provides them.  I've seen them, and they are available on their website.

I would guess that others do to.

Warren,

My real annunciator panel does push to test as well as the front face pulls open so you can change the bulb in them.  I have to retrofit mine with LED's but for now they have a swinging door on the front that also allows me to change the nameplate.
But they aren't individual mine is like a big brick LOL.

But I have seen these..

Hello Warren,

I was lucky enough to obtain a real Boeing 737 fire panel from Swisstechnik.
Since I will have to convert it for use in the sim I will gladly help you out in case you need any information, detail pictures or measurements.
All the annunciators on the panel are spring loaded push-type.

Best Regards,
Marc

I'm good Marc.

I also obtained a real fire panel and now have some great examples of the push-to-test annunciators.  I appreciate the offer.

Can't say when I'll get to it, but it has been added to the list of things I want to accomplish once my sim is complete.  At that point, I'll start upgrading the odds and ends that I may want to improve on.

Wow, they are only $40 each, what a bargain. I'm off to put an order in to replace the 100 in my sim..........nobody ever said.

I think I'll be happy with the same old ones in my pit,

I alway have the same reaction, 1000 dollars in annunciators, no way.
