Now that I have my throttle quadrant working in a very basic casing I'd like to look at making a more authentic casing. How would you go about creating the reverse thrust locks on an airbus throttle quadrant?

Reversers swing back and lock until you unlock and stow the reversers back to initial position.(spring)
You can use kitchen cabinets catches for that or anything else doing the job. Search your local hardware/home renovation store.
Then the design is yours ...all the way.
Remember that only one switch needs to be interfaced as you do not need proportional reverse for now and both are moved together.

Thanks for your outstanding help once again!
Could you post a picture of what these mechanisms look like? How do you implement them in to the TQ housing? This should allow you to pull back to IDLE then unlock and go into reverse thrust where they stay unlocked them lock as you push back in to idle?

The impression I got was that on an airbus throttle you could move from idle through to TOGA and back again but to go into reverse thrust you pull back the levers.

All throttles work differently, it depends on what airplane your trying to copy. the airbus style one in the video is the way airbus do it, Boeing ones have seperate thrust reverse levers, the more you pull them up, the more reverse thrust you apply.
Have a session on youtube, and watch various landings of different airplanes from within the cockpit. and then decide what method you prefair

I've decided to go with the A320 style reverse locks. Has anybody got any ideas of the best way to create the mechanism? Inside the casing what will stop the thrust levers and what will move to allow the levers to go back?
Changing my mind once again but, hopefully, for the last time.
I've decided to go with an A330 style TQ with separate reverse thrust levers. What I would like to know is if I'm using a separate potentiometer for reverse thrust where can I put it? There isn't much space in the thrust lever? Or do I need a very small pot?

After looking at Jack's TQ build I've decided it would be easier to go with a lever microswitch to turn reverse thrust on or off.
