I just received the two new Power Supplies for two monitors I bought at auction awhile back. I purchased the PS's via Fleebay, as 14v, 3 amp, PS's, specified for my Dell monitors by the seller. The units are factory marked 16.6v, 6 a, but have a 14v, 3a "cheesy looking" sticker in another corner of the data plate. I tested the output of both, and show 16.54-.59 output on both units.
Can I use these on my 14v, 3a monitors,or did I get fleeced? :huh:
**AT OWN RISK LOL *** Personally Ak, I would use them, because your only talking about a 2 volt difference, this won't blow anything up. On the other note, your reading the voltage when not under load. When you place this power supply on load it may drop the voltage a bit too.
If I were you, I would give it a go, especially if the end of the plug fits your monitor. But that is just me, and I tend to live on that side of things.

Me too, but the voltage will drop under load unless it's a regulated supply. I doubt it is because the variance isn't critical in this application.
