Hello guys,
I was just wondering if it would be sufficient if we use Intel NUC(s) for the cockpit hardware and display units instead of big desktop PCs. I mean we can have a main powerful PC for FSX and multiple NUCs for all the other stuff.
Is it possible?
Thanks
Its possible, but it depends on the application.
The PFD and ND of a 737 for example are quite graphics intensive, and a lot of embedded systems will not produce smooth results.
I use HP thin clients with Windows 7 embedded for CDUs with no problem, but they would not smoothly run any of the larger displays.
That being said, the new Intel NUCs are a fair bit more powerful, so they may do it quite easily
Thanks a lot for your reply mate :)
The latest line of NUCs are indeed very powerful. They also have the Intel HD5000 Gpu so i think they might do the trick.
