Title: VGA to S-Video
Post by: jackpilot on December 29, 2009, 11:17:33 AM
Hi Guys
I have an old PC with PCI slots and a vid card with a VGA plug for the monitor.
It runs the CDU software quite well but as it does not have a S-Vid out I cant use it to plug in the CDU hardware.
Can someting like this help? (PCI cards with S-video out are hard to find)

Yes Jack that will work wonderfully.  And will do what you want it to do.  Especially if you don;t have a composite output on your video card.

I tried one of these as well, but unfortunately your video card has to support it, otherwise it is just a useless cable like it was for me..

:o crap. I didn't know that. I have no belief that any of my older cards will support any special options.

LOL. No worries..  thank goodness it didn't cost you an arm and a leg..  Give it a shot, but I think you will find its not going to work for you..

And you were right.
But I got my hands on two new (old P4 3GHz) computers with PCIe slots last week and bought 3 PCIe graphcards on 31.12, all with TV-out, so I'm OK.
I'll pick up anotherone of those PCs and I'm set for a while.

Happy new year!

That sounds exciting then.  I am glad you were able to find an alternative.

Happy New year to you as well.
