Title: ASRock X99 OC Extreme4 Motherboard...
Post by: sagrada737 on February 24, 2015, 03:42:56 PM
Checking to see if anyone is running either FSX or Prepar3D on an X99 Extreme4 or 11 overclocked motherboard with the DDR4 RAM.   Processors?

I currently have fairly good performance/success running an ASRock Z77 i7 3770k overclocked to 4.7GHz.  I'm currently running FSX, with all the Kosta tweaks to the fsx.CFG.  Also running a new OC GTX980.  My current scenery setup is a host of MegaSceneryEarth hi-res, and all of the ORBX Base, LC, and Vector, including FSGenesis Terrain Mesh.  This makes for a nice view out the window, running 30 fps Limited, seeing framerates at or close to 30fps at hi-res airport installs for LXGB, KLAX, etc.  The exception being EGLL Heathrow, which has been a killer for FSX - ended up removing it.

I should also mention that I have some missing Terminal Buildings at KSEA and KPHX, with other airports fine - so far unable to resolve this problem.  I have researched the forums on this, but all the so-called fixes didn't help.  I think it has something to do with an AddOn Manager by FSDreamTeam.  Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Anyway...   The reason I'm asking about the X99 series motherboard. etc.,  is in anticipation of Prepar3D moving to a 64bit setup.  At some point, perhaps this year, I will change over to Prepar3D.
