I have a plan to make removable throttle levers for various airplanes using the analog slots on the BU0836A 12-Bit Joystick Controller.
my question is, is it possible to save different calibrations profiles, because the ranges on the pots will differ depending on the throttle I setup.
in a nut shell the top plate will change from say a 737 plate to a 777 plate. this would allow a slightly different travel of the range on the pot.
I am not sure if maybe this is achievable with FSUIPC. but the idea is to say create a top plate to allow reverse thrust for an dash q400 which needs more pot range.
I would set that to a specific aircraft e.g. the majestic q-400, and when I load say the PMDG 737 the range of the travel of the pot from 0% to 100% should be less than that of the q400.
I hope this makes sense and that it is possible. there is also no rewiring or anything.

I know when setting up buttons etc with FSUIPC there is the option to assign it to aircraft that is currently loaded. I think the axis assignments/calibration have the same option, not positive though.

do you know if a pot calibrated from a joystick card that reads from where starts and stops its full range or how does it identify the range?
just wondering if you unplug the throttles and plug it in that it will recognize the range automatically.
Unplugging USB gear in a cockpit is dangerous at best. Unless you plug it in, in the same port and nothing else has grabbed that address, it will see your unit as "New Hardware" and all your settings will have to be reset on that piece of hardware. My advice, if you can avoid it, DO NOT unplug your hardware once setup.

just wondering as I have some go flight modules I ordered but sometimes I do not need them all and want to change them out with other modules for different aircraft setup.
I was under the impression that the have identification so that when they are reconnected they are remember by the fsuipic or the computer?

Go Flight modules do and the Go Flight software remembers it. If you are using FSUIPC for the Go Flight modules I would not try switching them out. I am referring to things like joysticks.

with regards to the POT how does the computer detect where the gear is on the pot, so when you start the computer again it doesn't have to be calibrated.
say i went in to my throttle box and changed the POT (1 for 1, same model) and wired in the new one. put it back to the same usb port when the comp is off so it should load up fine but would there be a need for calibration again?
Yes because it is different hardware. I suppose theoretically, if everything was identical you should not have to. But in the real world, even though it is the same pot, it's output would be a little different.
Thought I should add that in order to get the proper range and output the axis need to be calibrated in Windows first, then they can be assigned and calibrated in FSUIPC.

does that mean I could theoretically assign different ranges on the axis with FSUIPC once I have done the windows calibration?
for example making 25% of the range thrust reverse for an a320 and no thrust reverse but full range for 737?
Yes, you should be able to do that.
