Title: Flight Illusion ALT & IAS for Prosim Help
Post by: 737man on August 08, 2015, 12:06:54 PM
Hello,
I have added  standby gauges to my sim.  I use prosim737 & FSX .  I can get the Horizon to function.  I have tried to find the ALT & IAS in Config gauges.
I used stand by alt & Standby Speed with no luck any help would be great.

I have the flight illusion standby alt/IAS and the RMI.  To get the RMI compass card working - simply plug it is.  Prosim will drive the compass card.  To my knowledge Prosim has not implemented any other RMI functions (unit ID 130).

For the IAS / ALT.  You need to configure the Speed as unit ID 102 instead of the default 254.  You can do that in the config utility that flight illusions supplies.  Once you have done that, Prosim can be set up to drive it.  You can calibrate the speed in the gauges tab of the config sheet.

However, right now my Standby altimeter function is not working correctly in Prosim.  It did at one time, so now I can't figure out what I did wrong.  I think it has to do with calibrating it in the flight illusion utility.  I'll go back and recalibrate to see if it fixes the problem.

Hi Folks,

with Flight Illusion (and Prosim737) there is no need to calibrate anything.

Just choose the correct ID for the specific gauge and Prosim will do the rest automatically [thanks, Prosim! :-)]

Cheers,

Andreas

Hmmmm !   If Prosim does everything, how do you calibrate it then?  Right now my altimeter is about 500 feet off, airspeed is about 50 knots off, and heading is about 20 degrees off.

The only thing in Prosim for calibration is the standby airspeed.

Also - my altitude works great until about 2,000 feet, then reverses itself showing a negative value.  Behaves exactly like a calibration issue.  Would welcome any thoughts.

Andreas,

I connected the yaw, brake, dual flap, alt, ias and horizon.  The led works on the horizon, yaw and brake gauges and they can be adjusted by the config in prosim.  The ias, alt and flap leds do not turn on.  the digital numbers on the alt gauge turn on.....I can hear the servo in the flap turn when power up?  what order do I connect to cords and which poirt on the gsa board do I use?

This is a pain......very confusing.......thanks Lance

Hello,

I have tried to connect and calibrate each gauge one at at time witht he gsa-55.  I got the brake yaw and horizon to work.  speed and alt still not moving or leds on.  Should I use the FL program?

In case the 'FL' program is the Flight Illusion software, yes, you certainly should use it. You need it to assign the different functions accordingly.

Best, Andreas

What is the unit id for the Standby ALT digital version?
