Hi Guys, .
Does anybody know a compatible RAL colour for Boeing Brown. It's the colour to match the MIP panels I'm looking for. I believe this is used in the 747-757-767.
Thanks
Joe.
Hey Joe,
RAL 8025 is close, but I find I need to mix in a little yellow to get it to match perfectly (or as close as possible). There isn't really any one RAL color that works, and you'll find that there are always several shades of "Boeing Brown" when you compare panels, even on the same flight deck.
If you need more help, feel free to PM me.
Matt
Thanks Matt, I'll give it a try and see what the result is.
Cheers
Joe
Joe,
I had a friend who is good with paint and color help me. The way she did it was to add a bit of yellow, mix, paint a small spot on a piece of paper, use a hair dryer to dry it, and then compare to the target color.
Matt
Hi Joe,
as Matt told us: you have to mix the color individually to fit perfect. My TQ from ANA is also a mixture of original Boeing brown, and lot different brown repair colors to cover scraches that happens over the time. And lot of the repair colors are *far* away from the original color!!
I'm using the color below, and mixed a bit of dark brown, red and black to fit perfect to my TQ color. You can see lot of pictures of my handset cradle as well as my IPECO seats, which have been painted with my mixture.
Have fun!
BR Hans
Thank you Hans for your input, but for the little clock bezels that I want to paint I don't think I want to get into mixing paint myself.
I usually get the paint in spray cans, much easier if I can find the right colour.... ???
Cheers
Joe.
I'm bumping this up in case anyone has any further ideas for this.
Joe,
Joe,
The actual Boeing color code is BAC #8328. You can source it online if you just Google this code.
Remember its OEM spec paint so it has the corresponding price tag (one site lists its for $226 a gallon) :o
Thanks Mick, it looks like you're correct. I found a UK dealer who sells the paint in 3.3 ltr cans. rather more than I need ::) ::)
I'm trying to get hold of an old panel and I'll get it matched as close as I can.
But thanks again for your input.
Joe.
Well I settled on RAL 8024 which was the colour my customer wanted, so this is what the clocks look like.
