Title: Embarrassing return to originating airport.......

(Yes I am using "Delta 2-0-9" as my callsign.. for some reason it's stuck in my head!  8) )

Just flew my first VFR flight using PilotEdge. John Wayne (KSNA) to Avalon (KAVX).

Filed VFR. Things were going smoothly, until about 10nm out. SoCal Departure contacts me: "Did you check the weather before departure?" Avalon is IMC"

So... no VFR landing tonight.

SoCal Departure then radio'd "I'll await your next request..."

[Embarrassing pause]

"Socal departure Delta 209, request vectors back to John Wayne"

Note to self: Check local weather at arrival airport before filing.

Seems we where just having this discussion on another thread. Need to check the weather before climbing into the cockpit! lol  :o
