Title: Shut up and take my money!!!
Post by: RayS on November 18, 2015, 10:11:57 PM
Due to extenuating circumstances and also the fact that FlyThisSim.com recently raised their prices by about 5000% AND because I would have to pay them extra to have them fix a known bug in their software, I've been...... looking.....

...and found this: https://www.siminnovations.com/software/air-manager/instruments (https://www.siminnovations.com/software/air-manager/instruments)

On the surface this appears it would allow me to keep my avidyne avionics setup and also keep my X-Plane install.

Has anyone done business with this company? I'd love to hear your stories...

Hi Ray. Good find. I didn't see this last year when I was looking for remote pc engine instruments.

Here is what I would do. Email them and ask them some questions. Express your interest and see how many days if any it takes them to respond. No response could be an indication of things to come when support is in question. The software is very reasonably priced.

Just my thoughts.

I did buy SimAvio2 and Beech panels from FTS for about 120 CAD. Few months after they shut down all support. I couldn't get even a fix for the newest X-Plane 10.

The product I bought from them is dead.

Then they think I would pay between 800 /1500 US for an upgrade!%$@%#%$!

I'm right there with you, Luc.... THeir product is/was a perfect fit for my sim but there's no way I'm paying $800-$2500 to keep it licensed.

Like anything with this hobby though, "Nature finds a way".

Trevor, you're the LUA programming expert here.. Are there any resources you'd recommend to learn LUA? I'm currently working on an Avidyne PFD gauge but about the only thing I can do so far is move text blocks around. I'd like to get fancy and have the PFD do things like go dark when there's no BATT power, etc....

Thanks!

Hey Ray..

This is where I started...  and It got me to where I am today.  Successfully sending FSUIPC Data to my Arduino.  (With a couple of small Bursting issues) Yet to fix.

There is some in depth Lua Tutorials, and to be honest some are so advanced I am told there is nothing you can't do with lua.   It is basically the ability to write whatever you want inside FS.  Using FSUIPC..  But I don't think that will help you and your X-Plan Stuff.

LUA works in x-plane very well.  ;)
