Title: No Autopilot (SORTED)
Post by: idj4 on December 24, 2015, 09:49:55 AM
Hi all.

I have been in touch with ProSim support, but haven't really got definitive answer. I have (almost) finished setting up my SSTD from Opencockpits (pictured) but I haven't got the AP to work yet. I have done a couple of basic flight set ups & taken off, but when I select AP CMD nothing happens. My MCP is OC V3 & I am using a trial of ProSim 737. I have downloaded the ProSim SIOC script and XML file from the OC site. Everything seems to work fine, except the AP function. I know the physical side of the AP is working. In SIOC monitor I am getting a signal reading for the CMD A & B/ CWS A & B, but is doesn't work in ProSim. Their support basically said.."The solution is in the SIOC script". (Thanks, that helps). I have imported the XML file into ProSim, which contains code for the MIP but not the MCP, so I am guessing that ProSim gets its coding for the MCP from the SIOC script. Does the AP only activate with specific FMC input? Maybe I'm missing some input   Thanks.

FMS not necessary. You need to make sure all AP/MCP switches are mapped to Prosim buttons. You look at Prosim and see if buttons are mapping correctly and if a given Prosim "button" has been "clicked". I know not a very good answer but that is the basic troubleshooting pattern. I have OC overhead and had to twiddle the SIOC script to get it all sync'd up.
