Title: fs9/fSx Jet Engine start surge ELIMINATED!
Post by: Mach7 on February 15, 2016, 08:07:07 AM
Hello All,

Just thought I would drop a line to share my recent discovery.

For many years I wondered how to get rid of that unrealistic engine start surge displayed when starting jet engines on Fs9/fsx.

With some research, here is the solution.

Download the freeware AirEd

Open you aircraft's airfile with this program and select line 1505

You will be presented with a graph.

The graph shows an X and Y axis at the bottom and vertical running gray lines. The gray lines represent time.

manipulate the X and Y values for the CN2 chart using he "X" and "Y" keys.

To move amongst these time lines use the left and right arrow keys.

starting from X = 0.0000 / Y = 0.00000, begin to tabulate your X and Y values. Once one time line is completed, move to the next time line using, ( the right arrow key), and set the X and Y values again.

Use the left and right arrow keys to go forward and backwards on the graphs timeline to check your work.

Save the file (AirED will save it)

Open FS9

Start your engines and see the surge in the N2 and Wf has all but disappeared!

If anyone wants the X and Y values that I tabulated, just email (PM) me and there yours.
