Title: Help with OC DCMotors card and 128=STOP issue
Post by: Jay on April 17, 2016, 05:56:17 AM
Hi everybody

I have a little problem with my opencockpits DC motors card. According to the manuals, value 128 used in the script should stop the motor however this makes the motor turn at max speed in my case.. It also do the same when I move the slider in the sioc monitor window to value 128.

Does anybody have a clue what's wrong here?
Thanks

Check the manual again, page 7 of the usbdcmotor manual says 127 stops the motor.

Thanks, that helps..  Anyway I'm wondering now why does the card act like this when using the sliders in Sioc monitor window. When I set it between 0 and 127 the motor turns to the left from 0 to max which is fine. However the value 128 starts the motor turning to the right nearly full speed and from 129 to 255 it goes right again from 0 to max.
Is this ok or is there something wrong?
Thanks

I always thought that 128 to 255 was the full speed range. However, your programming in sioc can solve any issues if it goes full speed at 128

"Off" for the DCMotor card is 0 and 127.

"Off" for the DCMotorPlus card is 0 and 128.

It is odd that OC has it defined differently for the two cards, but perhaps your issue is involved with that.
