So, I've been bragging all over Facebook about my Beech 1900 Dual-linked controls, which work like a charm..... right up until the point they almost buckled the entire sim frame.

Originally I used thin flexible wire between 2 wheels, linking the roll axis on each yoke. I wound about 10 turns between the 2 pulleys and attached a lightweight spring to the 2 loose ends to take up the slack. Viola! Linked yokes!

That is... until a few flights later I began to notice the controls being very difficult to turn, and a loud "Popping" sound as one of the braces came loose holding the yoke controls to the frame.

Over time and several dozen turns of the yoke, combined with the tension of a seemingly weak spring, all worked together to create a pulling force between the 2 yokes that nearly pulled the yokes out of their mountings.

I had a spare high-tension belt I've been saving for this but for whatever reason, decided to go with the multiple-wind pulley setup.

After installing the belt between the 2 yokes and building a makeshift belt tensioner, it's back in business.

Just goes to show... pay attention in your 3rd-grade physics class!
