Hi
I have seen lots of Collins MCP with white button or protector on the altitude intervene button. Is it disabled or is it just white color?
Is this standard on the new ones?

Hi Peter,
The round white object is actually a light sensor for auto brightness control of the LCD displays. You can just see the edge of the black alt intervention button which is mostly obscured by the knob to the left of the sensor.
Some companies do, however, disable the SPD INTV and/or the ALT INTV functions, and this is evident by small plates installed over the buttons and their associated writing, held in place with one small screw to the side.

Ah Thanks. Then i know what it is. I think i will try to look for the plates aswell, since i don´t use these features, and i think that the custom MCP is kinda cool and realistic since many airlines have this configuration. =)
