Title: Hello from Baghdad
Post by: fsaviator on February 15, 2010, 12:11:29 PM
Hi, I'm not really from Baghdad...  I just spend most of my time here every year.  In reality, I'm from Colorado and I'm going crazy without my Cherokee 235 Simpit.  Some of you may have seen prior posts on other forums of my Garmin GNS 530.  I've been getting hit up to provide the plans, but unfortunately, I don't have them here so it has to wait until I get home.

However, I've been flying my PMDG 737 on my laptop while I'm here and I've been bitten by the bug to upgrade my cherokee to a 737.  I've decided to go all out, and had the wife measure my current simpit area and it looks like I can squeek a full size, albeit slightly narrower 737 cockpit in there.

So...  here I am researching.  Anyone that can give me some insight on what the best backlightable front panels are, I would appreciate it.  I'm looking for kits though, as I want the fun of building them myself.  When I say best, I mean realistic, sturdy and won't break the bank.

See you around,

Warren

Hey Warren, Glad to have you here.  Being bitten by the 737 is a good thing.  I personally use Engravity panels, but FDS (FlightDeck Solutions) also makes nice panels.  I hope you will be able to find what you need, but if you are looking for some help.  we are all here if you need us.

Hi Warren. And welcome to your worst nightmare, but you already know that if you have a sim already!  Yes Aerosim Solutions is a good choice as well and maybe even more so since you want them in kit form.

Thanks for all the insight guys.

I've been busy.  As some know, I'm amassing quite a pile of packages for when I get home.  Almost there.

I have been killing some time working on my website though...  I've been known to put the cart so far ahead of the horse, that it's actually hooked to a horse further up the road!! ;D
