Title: Small vs big gears, need range

Ok here is the deal.
I have two big gears and two small to try out for the throttle levers and its pot.
What i am looking for is that my gear on my potentiometer should turn as much as possible when i move my lever that also has a gear connected.

What gives most rotation?

One big + one small
One small + one big
One big + one big
One small + one small

To tired to think formyself but i guess one big wheel on the lever and small on the pot?

Kurt,

The bigger gear on the drive and the small gear on pot.
For example if the driver gear has 50 teeth and the pot gear has 25 teeth,
the pot will turn twice every time the driver gear turns once.
If the driver gear has 75 teeth, the pot will turn three times and so on...

Hi Kurt,
All the TQs I have made use a 3:1 ratio gear drive. The TQ levers normally move about 90 degrees so the pots rotate 270 degrees. A normal rotary pot has about 300 degrees of travel so using 270 of the available 300 gives good resolution.

Thanks guyes! Thats exactly the answer i was looking for.
With bigger range my mapping will be more exact.
