Congratulations Bob! Making the move from FSX to P3D is a bit intimidating and a little bit of a hassle. But after you make the change, I am sure you will be quite pleased with the performance and overall visuals of P3D.
Be prepared for some of your previous scenery not to work with P3D - some will transfer over and some will be problematic, which was my experience. That said, you will be pleasantly surprised at how nice the stock scenery looks with P3D.
In my Sim setup, not all the HD airport scenery worked with P3D. I have found that ORBX Global Base work very well, as well as MegaSceneryEarth - no problems.
Best wishes with your setup.

P3D V3 is absolutely incredible. I flew last night around Northern Illinois in native P3D without ANY addons and as a PP that has flown all over the northern part of my state I was absolutely astounded at the built in scenery. I felt like I was out flying around in all my old cross country flights and could easily use pilotage to get around. Incredible!

Model T to a Mustang!!
Have it installed. Started it up to take a look at it and first thing I ran into is it will not fill both screens. lol I did not have any time to mess with it yesterday but today its all sim!! So no to figure out how to get it to fill both screens!
Figured out the "monitor issue" and have FSUIPC and my aircraft all installed. Thanks to Sam I had a few "shortcuts" to help me along the way. Now raising up the monitors to where they need to be and then a test flight to see where I stand.... Going well....
