Title: How to tie an LED to an event?
Post by: Stinger2k2 on March 09, 2017, 07:44:04 AM
Hi,

I am using a Leo Bodnar card. I saw the recent post regarding wiring an LED to a switch. I would like to tie an LED to the "gear down an locked event"

How would I go about this please?

Sorry, a really basic question for you experienced builders I suspect. !

regards
Stinger

You would need an output Interface card.

Such as "Phidgets LED64" and Alan Dyers Fsuipc to phidgets software.

Or An Arduino Card, or OC Card or something similar.

Flightdeck solutions also offers Input / Output card combos.. too.

Many thanks Trevor. I'll look into that.

A real flight simulator like X-Plane or those other 'games' like FSX or P3D?

Seriously though, if it's X-Plane the answer is sooper-easy and relatively cheap. :-)

Piece of cake with EPIC. I'm sure other cards are similar. Provide detail info. Many of us will help.

One day you will see the light :)

I am using fsx and building a cockpit based upon the Carenado Phenom 300. I'm getting on ok mapping the switches and encoders etc using Leo Bodnar bbi-32 boards.

This will be my first foray into getting fsx to control a board rather than the other way around.

I saw a small kit on "the bay" for an arduino uno. Will this suffice? I presume I can write some Lua to do the controlling?

Cheers for looking

Uno is what I use..  for all my servo gauges.  it can be used for inputs and outputs.

You will program a lua scrip to send data to Arduino, and then program the arduino to send data back to fsuipc.

I have sample code posted here in the Arduino section..

The kit will be useless to you in the sim. Might be ok for learning on but I would use the money saved to better upgrade the sim.
