Title: 737 Headset and intercom connections
Post by: fsaviator on January 01, 2018, 07:30:39 AM
Can someone confirm where the Pilot, First Officer, and observer(s) headset/mic plug-ins are located in the cockpit?  Pics would be great!

I'm installing my intercom system and want to mount the jacks before I put the sidewalls/roof panels in.

Thanks!

Jack has it in the correct place for the cap and f/o. ( The curly cord is the window heat wire)  The Obs is located in the cubby hole where the obs fold out seat is stored.

Thanks Trevor and Jack!  Thanks for the confirmation Gary.  When you say cubby hole, do you mean on the Co-pilot side of the entryway or the pilot side?

The co-pilot side, the obs seat folds into it. I can get you a pic next week but I think if you search 737 observer seat I think you should be able to find a pic before then.

Yep Trev that is the pen holders  :)

Gary, thanks for the offer.  All I can find are pics with the jumpseat folded up.  I won't lie, it wouldn't break my heart if you had the opportunity to take some pics of that back wall and spaces behind the circuit breakers, with the jump seat down.  It would sure make it easier as I build the back wall down the road.  I'm sure others would use the pics as well.

Cheers!

Warren,
Here are a couple of pictures that I have of the FO side CB panel without the observers seat installed. I can't make out any proper headset ports though.
Maybe someone can point to the spot where it should be.

This link is for a 3D tour of a 737-800. But even this does not show the jack location for the observer.

are you going to run all these comms through the audio management unit of the aircraft ? i asked because they are all interlinked ..if like the 74.. then some items are automatically louder  and over ride other things .. in the 73   i am curious with headset do you just talk or yiu have to do other actions at same time ?

Thanks Michael!  Perfect!

Bernard,

I have four seat intercom that I used to use in my real plane.  I'm going to wire it in to the two pilots locations, the jump seat location, and the instructor station.  I plan to run it on it's on soundcard for intercom and ATC.

As with everything I picture in my head I'm sure it won't be as easy as that...  but I guess that makes up half the fun!
