Hello folks. My 225 degree visual setup is more or less done. (Except for my resolution issue).
I dont bother to doublepost at several forums, so I put a link here to the post at flightdecksolutions.

Also go and check out the Nthusim software for your visuals. It is really good stuff :)

Holy smokes. That has to be about the most incredible visuals I have seen to date!! Fantastic job Ivar.....
Out of curiousity, what is the radius of your curve?
Nice work!
Scott
That looks great Ivar. You never cease to amaze me. Awesome.
Regards,
Henry
Thank you guys :)
This is fun to fly with. You really get the sense of motion. Accompanied with correct sounds from correct places. (more or less, lol)
Radius of curve is 2.35 meters. Center of radius is at the Cutoff levers. (Just between the two pilots noses). The projectors is an exact match to avoid the shell making shadows. Nthusim software is mandatory. :)
Is there still a crab effect?
Ivar was born with it! Check previous posts!!
:D
Ivar that is incredible . . that is an inspiration to keep building. If you get a chance could you tell us what is the approximate measurements from the front of your shell to the screen? :idiot:
hahaha, Jack is correct, I have a crab effect. But the sim appears to not have any.
Shane, the distance from the front of your shell to the screen is not a good point to calculate from. Calculate from where your eyes in the sim is. That would be a good eyepoint/center of radius. Here it is 2.35. (remember that all homebuilt shells are a little different lenghts also, so actual eyepoint should be your vital reference for a wrap around reference.
:D
Great looking visuals Ivar. Just like you were there!
Good point Ivar . . thanks for the measurement. :idiot:
Dang, I wish my room were 15 ft wide!! :-(
Unfortunately its not so I will have to stick with LCD screens but this sure looks nice!
Fantastic Ivar. Great stuff.. I can;t beleive how good that looks.. Man I think I am in Love..
Great stuff.

i'm absolutely stunned. Ivar, you are amazing ! if there was any justice in this world, my missus would give up her half of the garage. i've tried telling her to sell her car and buy a Vespa, but she just will not have it. we live in hope ;D
well done Ivar, you really inspire me sometimes (bit of hero worship here).
regards from wales ..... ian
Fantastic Ivar,
I'm green with envy. I am currently trying to get to where you are with three short Throw projectors in a room half your size.
I've got the visuals (needs some tweaking to line them up) but I really don't think I'm going to escape some shadowing. I won't know that until the shell is complete.
You continue to inspire me. I'm going to show the wife your video as she currently thinks I've lost my mind and can't visualize what I'm trying to achieve.
Thanks for sharing... again.
Warren
Hey Warren,
I would be interested in your result. The best Radius of wrap I could get going this route is probably 4-5ft as my space is only about 9x9. That is why I am planning 3-5 large LCDs but I love Ivars look. Hmmm, maybe I need to call in a backhoe and dig a basement addition!
Seriously though, I would be interested in how you are working yours out and what your setup and space is like.
Scott
Thanks guys for your comments.
This was a very big job to do. But worth every second of investigation. Very many aspects to think about in a setup like this.
I have not had the time to fly any more with the setup yet. So much things to do, and the days are getting shorter and shorter. (I am getting older, lol). But will have my bonus flight tomorrow. Started the weekend today :)
Guys, your wifes would love this. Just tell them that is like a home-IMAX theatre.
A very few people have seen the picture below, but I have been encouraged to show it to the public, lol.
Have fun :idiot:

Don't look to your left.... :D

Ivar,
As always my friend you are a true leader in this hobby, keep up the tremendous job your doing.
All the best
Your Friend
Tim
Ivar,
I am speechless. Once I wiped the drool from my chin, I showed my wife the video. She was very impressed too until I uttered the immortal words -'I want one'.
She walked out in disgust.
We can all dream and what I have seen today is a real inspiration.
