Hi all. Reaching out to you who have implemented gas struts to your yokes constructions.
They are totally awesome for feel and solves the self centering issues.
I use 150nm 15cm, would i do it again i would go for 200nm but 150 is fine.
But my major problem is that the yokes need to be moved the "other way" after the struts have centered the yokes. This means the gas struts have to have a "stop" at the end and be able to move freely against the other way. Itried a solution but it was so crappy i removed it. But i have a video that shows the problem.

How do you solve this problem with your setup?
Hi,
One option that I have seen is to place the top end of the strut in a tube with the end of the tube fixed to a pivot point. When you move the column in the direction that compresses the strut, the free end of the strut will hit a stopper in the tube and be compressed. When you move the column in the opposite direction, the strut will slide freely in the tube with the opposite strut doing the work.
I hope this makes sense? There are a few YouTube videos that use this method for rudder pedals.

Thanks Paul, that was kind of the solution i tried to build with my wood haha but it failed.
What are these parts called? Can you order online or is it CNC stuff?
Oh, one solution i am thinking of is a "door angle iron" that you can fold. Hopefully it can unfold when moving back and fold to max and compress the strut when in max position.
A simple aluminium or copper pipe with a diameter just big enough for the strut to slide freely should work

Ah nice! Just a tube to fit the strut will do the trick!
Will try both the tube and door iron and see wich turns out the best.
Thanks for all the help!
Hej!

This is how I did it on my build. Now they are torn apart and in the future I'll build a control loading system.
I think I still have all the stuff in a box so if I didn't throw it away I'm happy to donate them.
Im In Västerås this week but will be back home by Saturday.

Wow! Looks super professional!
I have the exact same crosstube with the same mounting, so i should be able to set it up like you did. 😊👍
I would gladly take/buy your used stuff.
Will send you a PM!
