Title: D sub connector common cables
Post by: kurt-olsson on March 15, 2018, 03:05:42 AM
Hi

I will use lots of dsub connector as a middle step from my hardware to my teensy. I will document the pins and use heatshrink so i have one nice cable each way.

A question i have is when i have lets say 8 buttons. Thats 8 cables to different pins to the teensy but the other 8 goes to the GND in the teensy. I wish to join all these 8 cables in some way.

Do i do this in the sub connector itself or would you do this before connecting into the teensy (lets say the PCB board the teensy is at)

Thanks

I've used twisted pair ribbon cable and idc connectors to connect  to a custom arduino shield. The shield handles the connection to all the grounds, this at least means that the cables are generic, and interchangable

True, thats how i am thinking of setting it up, otherwise there is "logic" in the dsub connector.
