Title: Faceplates for instruments
Post by: archen on May 17, 2018, 12:35:31 AM
Hi,
How do you guys do the faceplates for analog instruments?

Black and White is easy to engrave but I'm looking at coloured guages.

See attached picture for reference.

Hi Anders

I've used this ( https://www.megauk.com/quickmark-digital.php (https://www.megauk.com/quickmark-digital.php)) along with a laser printer and obtained reasonable results.
They're a little glossy , but on my ever growing list of things to try is to print on their PCB artwork film.

Regards

Dave

Hi Anders,

See if you can find someone locally with a UV cure printer.
The ink from those sticks like the proverbial "Shit to a blanket"

I have refurbished several OEM gauges with this method

Hi Mick,
I'll have a look at that. Thanks!!

Do you have any pictures of when you did that?

Would be interesting to hear how you guys did the faceplate. Choice of materials etc.
