Hi Guys
Before finalizing the project, need your feedback.
The panels overlay can be Backlightable or not Backlightable
Backlightable version has to be applied to acrylic subpanels (smoked or orange for a nice glow) so it implies cutting and drilling acrylic (zillion holes), and creating a light box behind. This can be very nice but will require more work (with the usual dose of frustration!).
Non Backlightables (as in real AC) would be printed on non translucent material and can be applied to thin MDF panels easier to shape and drill than acrylic.
What are you interested in, backlightable ,
or plain (probably cheaper.)
Let me know.
Jack
I prefer as like real AC. :)
Not backlit, as the real thing.
Plain for me.
Maurice
Plain for me as well. I will use small spot lighting to light from the front on some type of dimmer.
Thanks Jack
Jack
I will go with the flow, but just one question. Is it not possible to cater for both options in one solution. If non backlit then the film will be applied to a solid background, whereas if backlit it can be applied to perspex. Doubtless I have missed something or having another senior moment :-[
David
Not the same material, the non backlit is thicker. (and the printing less of a problem),,,I have been told.
But both will probably be available.

i would prefer non backlightable: thicker and cheaper (?).
That's only eyecandy ! For me, it's hard enough to design things in front of me.

Non-Backlightable for me too. Sorry for the delay... missed this post somehow.
No prob Guys.
I should get my own set shortly. it will be non Backlightable.
If all OK we will be able to order.
- nevertheless if someone want the backlit version it will be avail.
Final price will be set.

Hi Jack,
how much of price difference is there between the backlit version and the non-backlit version?

Backlightable.... (you backlight it) lol....
Probably not much, still negotiating this.
Will advise.
