Welcome to the group.

Many of us have a love for the outdoors, as well as RC aircraft. We are a crazy bunch for sure.

Please feel free to ask specific questions for help and do lots of searching in these forums.

Best regards

Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself and say how pumped I am to be here with all of you! I've always been a huge fan and I'm happy to dive into the conversations and learn from all of you.

A little about me: I'm a big fan of all kinds of outdoor adventures. Whether it's hunting, fishing, camping, or getting lost on some 4x4 trails, I'm always up for some fun. Recently, I've been getting into RC planes and cars, and I've even started building a new simulator setup that I'm hoping to share with you all soon. Oh, and I'm also pretty into motorcycles (on-road and off-road). The more adrenaline, the better!

Looking forward to chatting, swapping ideas, and getting some inspiration from your experiences. Let's have some fun!

Cheers,

Thanks Jack.  Glad you enjoyed the astro images.

I keep going back to your photos of your Sim's Galley area.  Excellent work!

Hello Everyone,

It's always fun to read what others are doing with their Sims.  We all have a constant desire to keep on improving our setup.

In my case, I continue to add cockpit detail to the Flightdeck.  I'm still working refining the aft seat, ceiling area, and various Panels to make the Flightdeck look more realistic.

The Sim continues to run well with P3Dv5.4 and Sim-Avionics.  I did make a speed improvement with the Sim Computer, upgrading to a 13th Gen processor and higher speed everything.  I replaced the projectors with true 4K laser projectors, which made a significant improvement in the 220 degree wrap-around display quality.  I changed some of the projector Settings to enhance image contrast, and I repainted the screen with a medium gray screen paint, which further increased display contrast.

The 6 degrees of freedom (6dof) Motion Platform continues to function well.  I have made some modifications to the motion software to improve motion in both ground and flight operations.  I collaborated a friend who owns a drone/video production company -- Preising Productions, to make a short video of my Sim Room.  Link below...

I have moved around various scenery and brought in some new FCScenery, which all is working nicely.  I fly the Sim on a frequent basis and share it with others as often as possible.  No great plans for the future, except that it would be nice to add a F-18 Simulator to Sim Room... ;D

As many of you know, I have an observatory and do astrophotography.  Below is a short video completed recently showing my astrophotographs over the years.  Enjoy the show!  Link below the Sim video...

All the Best,
Mike

All is well with my 738 Sim here.  In the last year and a half, I implemented some significant improvements on the theme. After all these years I was finally able to move on from WideView for my multi display visuals. Visuals are now running on a single computer thanks to a combination of an I9-1300kCPU and a 4090(OC)GPU. That is coupled with three new HD laser projectors. Frames are about equal to my old WideView setup visuals that ran on 4 computers...a miracle of modern electronics! I also moved on to P3Dv5.4.  No big deal there except for the fact that I had to rebuild my 140 airports addons that I had with v4.5.  I also converted to ProSim for my avionics suite.  That combination is working very well. I also invested in a pair of new CPFlight ethernet CDUs and made some mechanical improvements in the operation of my TQ trim wheels. So the bird is flying very well now.

UAL1120 will not be participating as an official team in this year's WorldFlight. Barb and I have been preoccupied with travel this year and have some other family priorities that we are currently involved with. WF is a lot of work to do right.  I simply do not have the time this year to deal with it all.

I keep toying with the idea of upgrading to a MAX, but no definite plan on that as yet.

This winter I will give the new MSFS a look, setting it up in parallel with P3D.

Boeing Software - Discussion / Re: Project Magenta Reinstall

Hi Guys,

Yes Jack, I realize the Nav Data page is not part of the route data and only reference.  After re-reading my post I mis-spoke.  Thanks.

I believe we do actually have that FMC "bible" so will take a looks at it.

Trevor, will use the RTE page to enter the WP's and see how it draws and behaves.  Since a lot of what I'm flying are just my own local routes, there are not really any airways for the most part.

A lot of the routes I do are "scenery interesting" so that turns and decent have something nice to look at (New York, LA, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam etc.).

So using the RTE page do you put something like DIRECT on the left with WP on the right?  I always start with the Orig & Dest airports and runways before heading to the legs page.

Anyway, Will let you know how it goes.  Funny that it used to work just fine and then after an update years ago, it just started drawing these lines out and back.

Thanks,
Scott

That page is for reference only (checking frequency and or coordinates) not for entering route data.
I do use Route Data for winds at specific Waypoints as well.
